Three MIHS Students Give Presentations at King County Youth Leadership Summit

Mercer Island, WA, June 4, 2026 – Mercer Island High School students Alice Liang, Elijah Glowitz, and Evie Pyeun attended the King County Youth Leadership Summit on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Museum of Flight.
The summit was hosted by the King County Youth Bill of Rights Task Force and all three MIHS students participated and presented at the summit.
Evie, who is a member of the King County Youth Bill of Rights Task Force, and her group presented a breakout session on “Roadtrip! Our Journey shaping the next King County Youth Commission”.
Alice and Elijah presented a breakout session on “Youth Advocacy and Community through Youth Mental Health” at the Summit.
Mercer Island Youth and Family Services (MIYFS) staff, Chris Harnish and Michelle Ritter, supported Alice, Elijah, and Evie at the King County Youth Leadership Summit.
The King County Youth Leadership Summit aligns with MIYFS’s efforts to support youth voice and well-being. Alice and Evie are also members of the 2025-26 YFS Youth Matters advisory group that met this past year to discuss topics important to Mercer Island youth.

EdTech Focus On K-12 Magazine published a story today on schools around the country embracing new media technology which gives students career ready recording and editing skills and included KMIH 88.9 The Bridge broadcast media teachers Natalie Woods and Lauren Schecter and MIHS students in the story.
