MIHS Robotics Take First Place at PNW District Sammamish First Robotics Event

Mercer Island, WA, March 26, 2026 - The MIHS Robotics team took first place this past weekend at the PNW District Sammamish First Robotics event.
Additionally, the team was awarded the FRC Judges Award, a special recognition in the FIRST Robotics Competition that allows the judging panel to honor a team for unique efforts, exceptional performance, and special dynamics that deserve recognition. It highlights standout characteristics or achievements observed during the competition.
The team next competes at the Districts level in Cheney April 9 to April 11. A shout-out to the team, mentors, sponsors, and parents who made this happen and best of luck as they move forward in their quest for world domination.

On Saturday, MI Robotics, Mercer Island High School’s First Robotics Champion (FRC) Team 5937 officially qualified for the 2026 FIRST® Robotics World Championship by finishing in the top 16 of teams competing at the Washington State Championship.

There are 55 students in the fifth period Symphonic Winds Band at MIHS and their combined grade point average is 3.97.
