Mercer Island, WA, May 15, 2025 – Mercer Island High School ninth graders Lila Peters and Calla Youssefieh, hosts of the Passion For Fashion show and podcast on KMIH 88.9 The Bridge, and MIHS broadcast media teacher Natalie Woods will be guests on a segment of Studio 13 Live on Tuesday, May 20. Studio 13 Live is on FOX 13 Seattle from 10-11am.
Passion For Fashion airs on KMIH 88.9 The Bridge on Tuesdays at 3pm and can be found on Spotify.
Studio 13 Live hosts Carly Henderson and Mireya Garcia will be speaking to Calla and Lila about how they are using fashion as a lens to explore creativity, self-expression, and identity — all while learning the art of storytelling through radio. Natalie will speak to Henderson and Mireya about how KMIH is such a wonderful platform for youth voice and why it is special to see students take ownership of a show.
KMIH 88.9 The Bridge was recognized as the best high school radio station in the country at the 2025 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards and the 2024 John Drury Awards. Student shows, podcasts, and productions have won numerous awards at the IBS Awards and Drury Awards over the years.
We encourage community members to tune into the show to see the MIHS trio or record the show for later viewing. After the broadcast we will have a story with the link to the show segment on our website.
MIHS senior Anna Carson is the Head of Marketing and Social Media for KMIH 88.9 The Bridge. She will be chronicling the trio’s appearance on Studio 13 Live with behind-the-scenes posts on MISD’s Instagram Stories.
We are very appreciative of the opportunity Studio 13 Live is providing MISD to broadcast student voice, celebrate student successes, and feature our innovative teachers.
