MIHS Journalism and Yearbook Students Receive Awards

Mercer Island, WA, March 27, 2023 - On Saturday, March 4, Mercer Island High School Islander and Isla staff members attended the Washington Journalism Education Association (WJEA) State Conference at Mountlake Terrace High School.
Several students received awards in the write-off and judging competitions:

Mercer Island High School will be hosting its second annual Future Islander Night on Thursday, January 16, from 5:30-7:30pm.
This past weekend, the MIHS Freshman VEX Robotics Team, the Slippery Penguins, competed in the annual Lake Stevens Turkey Trot Invitational Tournament.

The Mercer Island High School band program is excited to announce that Ko-ichiro Yamamoto, principal trombonist of the Seattle Symphony, will present a masterclass for MIHS band students during Islander Hour and 6th period on Wednesday, November 13.
