Mercer Island, WA, January 8, 2026 – Mercer Island High School will be hosting its third annual Future Islander Night on Wednesday, January 14, from 5:30-7:30pm.

This is a new date for Future Islander Night as we have changed the date from Thursday, January 15 to Wednesday, January 14.

Future Islander Night is a chance for current Islander Middle School students and parents and other high school age students and families living on Mercer Island but not enrolled in MISD to visit the high school to learn more about the classes, curriculum, programs, school groups, and athletic programs at MIHS.

Future Islander Night will kick off promptly at 5:30pm with the MIHS Marching Band Drumline leading families from the Commons into the gym for a video presentation and opening remarks from MIHS administrators. We encourage families to not be late.

The festivities for Future Islander Night include:

  • Opening remarks from MIHS principal Nick Wold;
  • Broadcast of a Special Edition of the MIHS news program The Current on MIHS.TV;
  • Math, English, Social Studies, and Science departments will be available to answer questions from families;
  • School departments, Counseling, Athletics, PTSA, ASB, College & Career Readiness (CCR) and others will have information tables in the Commons;
  • Visits to Ceramics, Photography, and other Fine Arts classrooms;
  • Culinary Arts classroom will be providing a delicious treat;
  • Future Islander families can tour the library, KMIH 88.9 The Bridge studios, student store, TV/Video studio, and classrooms.

The district and MIHS are looking forward to a fun and informative night where we can showcase all our high school has to offer future Islanders.

We look forward to seeing you at Future Islander Night.
