MIHS Computer Repair Club Running Holiday Technology Donation Drive
Did you know that over 15% of children in the U.S. don’t have home access to technology, yet every year, over 12 million tons of e-waste is produced by the US alone, comprising 70% of all toxic waste. The answer to both these problems? Give your old, used technology a second life!
The MIHS Computer Repair Club is running a used technology donation drive on Saturday, December 9th from 1pm-4 pm at Mercer Island High School.
MIHS senior Keegan Wang has created the non-profit Computers For Kids Foundation which will share the donated technology items with youth educational non profit groups in the region.
The Repair Club would love if our community could donate any used computers, laptops, desktops, monitors, computer parts, tablets, keyboards, mice, or other computer peripherals.
Date: Saturday, December 9th
Where: Mercer Island High School (front of school)
Time: 1pm- 4pm
What will be accepted: Computers (any condition), laptops, desktops, tablets, computer parts, monitors, mice, keyboards, and cords. Other technology will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. All computers and drives will be fully wiped without being opened or accessed.
Where they are going: The Computers for Kids Foundation will be donating these computers to youth educational nonprofits in the Puget Sound Area like the Boys and Girls Club.
If community members have any questions or would like to donate and you are unable to come during the allotted time on Saturday, December 9, please email the club at mihscomputerrepairclub@gmail.com, or text the club at 206-307-1976.
