Mercer Island, WA, September 14, 2026 – Mercer Island High School athletic director Lindsey Blaine is pleased to announce Ashley Ka has been named the new head coach of the MIHS girls’ gymnastics team.
Ashley was an assistant coach in 2025-26 for Mercer Island Girls Gymnastics (MIGGS) and has been a recreational gymnastics coach at Gymnastics East.
“I love the sport of gymnastics and still do it myself for fun,” said Ka. “It was a privilege to work with all of the athletes last season. MIGGS has a long history of being a welcoming, fun, and tight-knit team, and I’m excited to continue that legacy!”
Ashley grew up as a competitive gymnast at Gymnastics East in Bellevue and is an alumnus of the Sammamish High School gymnastics program. She is also a member of USC Club Gymnastics.
