37 MIHS Band Students Selected for 2026 Washington All-State Honor Ensembles

Mercer Island, WA, January 28, 2026 - Mercer Island High School (MIHS) is proud to announce that 37 students from the MIHS Band have been selected to participate in the 2026 Washington All-State Honor Ensembles, marking the largest number of students accepted in MIHS band history.

Students from all 22 Washington State Music Regions submitted recordings for consideration through a blind audition process, ensuring selections were based solely on musical excellence. The Washington All-State Honor Ensembles represent the highest level of achievement for high school musicians in the state.

The MIHS Band has a longstanding tradition of strong participation and success at the state level, and this year’s historic showing reflects both the dedication of its students and the depth of the program.

“These results speak to the commitment, discipline, and artistry of our students,” said MIHS Band leadership. “We are incredibly proud of their work and honored to see Mercer Island so strongly represented at All-State.”

The selected students will rehearse and perform with top student musicians from across Washington under the direction of distinguished conductors during the 2026 All-State Conference.
