15 MIHS Band Students Performed at Washington State Solo and Ensemble Contest

Mercer Island, WA, May 3, 2024 – The Washington State Solo and Ensemble Contest was this past weekend and the event featured 15 MIHS band students.
All 15 students played brilliantly with the following students winning or placing in their categories:

MIHS Trombone Choir - Large Brass Ensemble
The students below earned the right to compete by winning or placing in the Eastshore regional contest held in January.

Around two years ago when ChatGPT, the generative artificial intelligence model chatbot, became available for public use, conversation in the education sphere focused on how students would inevitably use the technology to write their essays for them and do their homework.
