11 MIHS Orchestra Students Selected for All-State Honor Ensembles

Mercer Island, WA, February 5, 2026 - A record number of students in the MIHS Orchestra program auditioned and were selected to participate in the 2026 Washington All-State Honor Ensembles.
Students from across the state prepare a set of difficult orchestral excerpts before being recorded and evaluated in a blind audition process. Acceptance in these ensembles marks the highest level of music achievement in the state.
This year's record level of participation is but one example of the dedication and talent that students bring to Mercer Island High School every day. These 11 students will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside other musicians from across the state from May 28-30 in Tacoma.

Student broadcasters from KMIH 88.9 The Bridge have earned national recognition at the prestigious Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) awards ceremony.

Pegasus, the Mercer Island High School Creative Arts Magazine has been recognized with two First Class Ratings from two different scholastic organizations.

The Student Store (school-based enterprise) at Mercer Island High School was among 37 school-based enterprises achieving Gold for the 2025-2026 school year and will be recognized during DECA’s International Career Development Conference April 25-28, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia.
