Pre-Requisite: ITE360 - CS1 PROG & GAME DSGN (or permission from instructor)
Course Description: Students learn computer science through programming in AP Computer Science A. This course covers the design of solutions to problems, the use of data structures to organize large sets of data, the development and implementation of algorithms to process data, and the analysis of potential solutions. Using Java programming language, the course emphasizes object-oriented programming and design. College credit may be awarded for qualifying AP Computer Science scores. AP course students are encouraged to take the AP examination, for which they will be prepared throughout the year.
Work Load: This will be a challenging course as its comprehension will be at a college level. There is no direct homework assigned outside of class, though the expectation is to use time outside class to study if falling behind.
Why would you be interested in the Class: Even if students don't plan to pursue a computer science career, most careers have computer science elements. As well, students will learn basic logic principles that can help with any decision.
