Title: GME320&GME321--MEDIA TECHNOLOGY
Pre-Requisite: None
Course Description: This course introduces the basics of video production using professional equipment, video editing software, and digital workflows. Among the topics students study are video technologies, basic equipment operation, video composition, audio production, and visual storytelling. To produce videos, students learn and practice pre-production, production, and post-production skills. A variety of projects are created in groups for a variety of purposes and audiences. Student will explore various multimedia tools that can be used to enhance future educational or work-related projects. Regular completion of video projects is expected.
Work Load: Students participate in hands-on, individual/group, project-based productions in this course. Among this work is the weekly MIHS television show, "The Current." Most of the work is done in class, aside from actual filming.
Why would you be interested in the Class: In addition to television and film production, the United States has a robust film industry. This class is designed for students who are interested in telling stories on camera and considering careers in cinematography, screenwriting, production, or directing.
