Title: GMA320&GMA322--INTL ENTREPRENEUR
Pre-Requisite: GMA155, GMA156 Marketing 1, GMA255, GMA256 Adv Marketing
Course Description: Skills and knowledge for developing a global international trading business are covered in this course. It will motivate and encourage students to participate in entrepreneurial ventures, learning and experiencing all aspects of business, international trade while simultaneously focusing on profit, non-profit, social responsibility, environmental sustainability and civic engagement. The students will create a company, Mercer Trade Inc., and spend the year working on real-world entrepreneurial projects designed to integrate the various elements of the course. Second semester focuses on working towards Industry Recognized Certifications such as Data Analytics, etc.
Work Load: Our student-run company, Mercer Trade Inc., does require outside-of-class time due to sales and events but homework is kept to a minimum. Students will participate in DECA and will write an International Business Plan which may involve outside work.
Why would you be interested in the Class: International Entrepreneurship is the capstone class of the Mercer Island HS Business and Marketing pathway. Students interested in business, of any sort, would benefit taking this course.
College Credit: Bellevue College - Principles of Retailing - MKTG 135 - 5 credits
Students will be registered in this class at the permission of the instructors.
