Course Description:  The Business and Personal Law course is designed for students interested in applying laws to business, personal, and work-related issues. In this one-semester course, students gain an understanding of our society's legal framework. Inquiry-based, competency-building activities build critical thinking and problem-solving skills. A number of topics will be discussed, including our judicial and court systems, ethics, torts, criminal law, intellectual property, contracts, and consumer protection. It prepares students to make ethical, legally-minded, professional decisions by providing them with knowledge about the basics of law.

Work Load:  Primarily in class work, projects and discussions.
