Title: EFR311&EFR322--FRENCH 3

Pre-Requisite: B or above in French 2 or above is recommended to be successful in French 3

Course Description: In French 3, students will gain a deeper understanding of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students should reach the Advanced Low proficiency level (ACTFL guidelines) by the end of French 3. Additionally, francophone culture is emphasized. Accuracy will be refined through proficiency-based units and grammar units. In addition to developing French language skills, students will examine authentic materials related to contemporary culture in Francophone countries. There will be a strong emphasis on communication in class, and students are expected to be active participants.

Work Load: There is 30 minutes of nightly homework.

Why would you be interested in the Class: By 2050 French is predicted to be the most spoken mother tongue on the planet. Why? There are 33 African countries that speak French and 1 in 4 people on the planet will be African by 2050.
