Title: EFR211&EFR212--FRENCH 2

Pre-Requisite: Successful completion of French 1. (It is highly recommended that one passes French 1 with a C or above before moving to French 2) For Islander Middle School students: 5 trimesters French 1 in grades 7-8.

Course Description: French 2 aims to provide students with a solid foundation in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in French. It is expected that students will reach the Intermediate Mid-proficiency level (ACTFL guidelines) by the end of French two. A special emphasis is placed on the culture of the francophone world. It will be important for students to participate actively in class, as communication will be the focus.

Work Load: There are 30 minutes of nightly homework.

Why would you be interested in the Class: By 2050 French is predicted to be the most spoken mother tongue on the planet. Why? There are 33 African countries that speak French and 1 in 4 people on the planet will be African by 2050.
