Title: FAV225--ADV WHEEL CERAMIC
Pre-Requisite: FAV220 - Wheel Thrown Ceramics
Course Description: As a continuation of Wheel Thrown Ceramics, this course builds upon the knowledge gained in that course. Technique and form will continue to be perfected and advanced by students. They will build larger and more complex pieces built out of thrown parts like teapots, lidded vessels and sculptures built from thrown pieces that have a common theme. They will also create and maintain a blog where all their work and creative processes will be published and documented. This course supports AP Studio 3D.
Work Load:
Our Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) is Art Club.
A Standards Based Grading system that incorporates Formative Assessments for skill development and Summative Assessments based on projects. Students who use class time wisely will have little to no homework.
Assignments can be completed written, orally, or through video submission. Warning: Throwing classes use pottery wheels that contain magnets! These pose a risk to people that use pacemakers!
Why would you be interested in the Class: Every skill level is welcome! In this class, you'll learn the same techniques and skills used in real-life industries. This course will teach students how to run a studio safely, as well as how to create and finish pieces that can be sold.
