Title:  FAP810&FAP811--DRAMA 1

Pre-Requisite:  None

Course Description:    As part of the course, students will learn the basics of acting and improvisation, as well as the study of texts (monologues, scenes, and plays). Daily activities will be designed to improve creativity, concentration, communication, collaboration, vocal and physical expression, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. A student can experience theater acting, film making and acting, mime, puppetry, poetry readings, musical theater, and Shakespearean literature and performances. There will be a culminating performance at the end of each semester. Students who successfully complete Drama 1 are encouraged to audition for Drama 2.

Work Load:  Homework is limited to character and memorization work, sometimes 1-2 hours a week.

Why would you be interested in the Class:   This course is intended for students who are interested in building community, learning how to actively engage with classmates and work toward a performance, learning technique and skill-building exercises and games, and becoming part of the larger Drama community.
