Course Description:    Drama games and improvisations teach students how to think on their feet, improve focus, and collaborate with other students. Students will develop listening skills, confidence, and self-esteem through these activities. This class is not intended for actors. It is suitable for all levels of skill and ability. Improv skills can be applied to all life experiences, so students will leave here ready to tackle everything from a job interview to a presentation. Students prepare for an Improv Show at the end of the semester.

Work Load:  There is no homework for this course. All works happens in class, in small groups and large groups. Students have weekly formative assessments based on performance work in class, and monthly summative performance assessments.

Why would you be interested in the Class:   Have you been feeling the stress of high school and need a place to unwind, express yourself, and just laugh? Improv is the perfect place to do that. Through fun and silly scene games, students leave their worries at the door and learn how to improv.

Additional Info:  A drama class is a safe place to explore your creativity and leave your worries at the door. All are welcome. Our ensemble is built on a high level of trust and communication. Diversity is our strength. Inclusion is our philosophy. Creativity is our passion. Drama is our language.
