Title:  FAP351&FAP352--BEL CANTO CHOIR

Pre-Requisite:   None

Course Description:    All students (grades 9-12) interested in exploring music through singing are welcome to join choir. Collaboration with peers is emphasized, and students perform music from a variety of styles. This includes art songs, folk songs, and choral repertoire from various cultures, as well as musical theatre and pop. Through their participation in our concert choir, students learn a variety of vocal techniques and strengthen their overall musicianship. In addition to evening performances throughout the year, students participate in choir retreats, choral festivals, and other travel opportunities.

Work Load:  Required daily homework: None
Evening rehearsals/sectional rehearsals: Once per concert cycle
Concerts: 5 per year
Festivals/travel vary depending on the year. Reach out to the choir director with questions about the upcoming year.

Uniform: Concert black attire (to be chosen and purchased by each singer, following concert black guidelines)
Festival/retreat/travel fees will apply. Reach out to the choir director if you have questions regarding fees for the upcoming year.
Involvement in a concert ensemble (like Bel Canto Choir) also makes students eligible for involvement in Jazz Choir, which is offered before school twice per week.
