Title: FAP331&FAP332--INSTRUMENT TECHNIQ
Pre-Requisite: Prior enrollment in MISD percussion program or Instructor’s approval
Course Description: This course is open to students who wish to continue developing their proficiency on all instruments in the percussion family. Involvement in this course will include participation in one of four concert bands, marching band, and the MIHS Percussion Ensemble. Students will be exposed to quality literature in many genres. Performances are a required part of this course; some will require evening rehearsals.
Work Load: Students are expected to learn their individual parts on their own and demonstrate regular progress in rehearsals. The amount of outside of class practice time will vary with the individual student. During football/marching season, students will attend a minimum of one 45 minute sectional per week as well as one 3 hour evening rehearsal prior to each (approx. 4 or 5) home football game.
Why would you be interested in the Class: The MIHS band program is the largest student organization on campus and is comprised of students from all grades, interests and abilities. Students joining the MIHS band program can expect to be a part of a hard working, creative, diverse team of learners that work together to achieve at the highest level.
