Title: FAP283&FAP284--TECH THEATRE 2
Pre-Requisite: Theatre Tech 1
Course Description: Students in Technical Theatre 2 can hone their skills and expand their horizons. Set design and construction, script transformation, and production leadership are among the topics students will study. Students apply, analyze, and assist in developing a unifying concept for a production using lighting, sound, properties, set construction, special effects, rigging, graphic design, costumes, make-up, and stage management. Main stage productions may be designed by technical theatre students. As a preparation for employment in the technical theatre industry, students will create a portfolio of their work.
Work Load: Project-Based/Group/Individual/Formative/Summative/Design/Hands-On/Opportunities in All Technical Theatre Elements (Sound/Props/Lights/Sets/Projections/Costumes/Make-Up)
Why would you be interested in the Class: Students interested in developing their creativity will thrive in this class. Furthermore, students who enjoy hands-on, project-based classes will enjoy this course. In addition, learning about the many departments that make up a production would deepen students' understanding and appreciation of such art forms.
Additional Information: Guest speakers who work in the industry often come to lead master classes in Theatre Tech 1 and 2. This provides access to current industry standards and networking opportunities for the students.
