Title:  ESP321&ESP322--SPANISH 3

Pre-Requisite:  Completion of Spanish 2 or equivalent

Course Description:  This course reviews and refines the skills introduced in Spanish 1 & 2. All tenses of Spanish will be studied, and students will learn more advanced vocabulary and master more complex grammar structures. Rather than memorizing patterns and responding rotely, students will develop self-expression in Spanish. Authentic non-fiction and short fiction pieces in a variety of media will be studied. In third year Spanish, mastery from first and second years will be tested, but it will not be explicitly taught.

Work Load:  Daily homework will be assigned, including more complex assignments in writing and reading and use of more advanced language resources. Participants will be evaluated based on their participation in class, their contributions to projects, their presentations, and their performance on tests and quizzes.

Why would you be interested in the Class:  The goal and mission of the Spanish department is for students to learn skills that allow them to communicate, explore, and connect across cultures and foster attitudes of mutual understanding and respect of the Spanish-speaking world.
