Course Description: English 9 Honors expands the English 9 curriculum with additional readings and a deeper study of the course's content. The course introduces students to literary theories and literary criticism techniques. Students should already have a strong understanding of essay writing and demonstrate strong critical thinking abilities. They will improve their skills in writing, analyzing, and presenting oral presentations while enhancing their understanding of critical thinking principles. As the year progresses, students will refine their written assessments by using higher-order thinking, in-depth research, and additional writing techniques.
Work Load: Group and Individual Work, Projects, Essays, Presenations, Formative/Summative, Daily Reading. Expect up to an hour of homework a night.
