Title: DSC365&DSC366--AP CHEMISTRY
Pre-Requisite: Chemistry 2
Course Description: Chemistry AP covers topics such as chemical reactions, thermodynamics, acids and bases, reaction kinetics, and electrochemistry. Students Improve their ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and apply concepts. The college course progresses rapidly, so daily work ethic and attendance are essential. Evaluations will be based on tests, lab reports, and class/homework prior to the AP exam; after the AP exam, evaluation will be based on projects. College credit may be awarded for qualifying AP Chemistry scores. AP course students are encouraged to take the AP examination, for which they will be prepared throughout the year.
Work Load: 2-4 hours per week outside of class involving individual assignments and preparation for tests, group lab work and analyses
Why would you be interested in the Class: This course is for motivated students who desire the challenge of a college-level chemistry course in high school. Students who are pursuing pre-health sciences, engineering, and technology fields would be valid candidates.
