Pre-Requisite: Recommended: Biology, Chemistry (1 semester)/ Physics (1 semester)
Course Description: The AP Environmental Science course is equivalent to an introductory college course. This engaging and rigorous course emphasizes scientific principles and analysis through field research, case studies, and laboratory experiences. Biology, earth science, and chemistry are all covered in the class. Biodiversity, population dynamics, food production, soil, toxicology, climate change, energy production, air pollution, and water resources are also covered. College credit may be awarded for qualifying AP Environmental Science scores. AP course students are encouraged to take the AP examination, for which they will be prepared throughout the year.
Work Load:
Group and individual work, lab work, research projects, reading quizzes, and tests.
