Title:  DSC338&DSC339--CHEMISTRY 2

Pre-Requisite:  chemistry 1, biology, algebra 1

Course Description:    Chemistry 2 completes the year of chemistry and physics started in Chemistry 1. The course will prepare students for advanced science courses and apply to the lab science requirement. Students will develop a better understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to explain them from their initial ideas. Problem-solving and observation are emphasized. Small-group problem-solving, lab investigations, and whole-class discussions are all included in the classroom learning environment.

Work Load:  1-1.5 hours per week outside of class. Individual assignments and preparation for assessments, group lab work and analyses

Why would you be interested in the Class:   This course is a continuation of chemistry 1. Generally, students take this course to prepare themselves for additional science courses in the following year, as well as to gain a better understanding of science's impact on daily life.
