Title:  BSS231&BSS232--MOD WLD HIST H

Pre-Requisite:  Successful completion of 9th grade Early Civilizations or Human Geography content is recommended.

Course Description:    The Honors course covers the same content as the regular Modern World History course. However, since this is an honors course, students must have mastered critical reading, research, and writing skills. The content covered in 9th grade Early Civilizations and Human Geography will also be required. Comprehending assigned primary and secondary source materials outside of class is also expected. Honors reading is twice that of regular classes. Discussing ideas and insights in honors classes is expected.

Work Load:  Group/Individual, Project/Papers, Formative/Summative, Lecture, Discussion/Participation

Why would you be interested in the Class:  10th grade students who love studying the subject of History, who have taken 9th grade Ancient Civilizations or Human Geography, and those that are looking for a more challenging course to develop their social studies skills and a deeper understanding of the world we live in.

Additional Info:  If a student is interested in registering for both the 10th grade Honors World History and the 10th grade English Honors course, we strongly encourage students to register for the integrated Modern World History Honors Block course, as the historical content and literature are linked together for a team taught deeper and more rich learning experience.
