Course Description:  Study the major world religions and developments in history from the Renaissance to the present. Learn about the major world political and economic systems too. Examine how technology, art, and ideas affect civilizations and how cultures change through interaction. Gain a deeper understanding of cultural evolution. Topics explored include, but are not limited to the Renaissance and Reformation, Scientific Revolution, Exploration Age, Enlightenment, French Revolution, Industrialization, Nationalism and Imperialism, Russian, Indian, and Chinese Revolutions, World War II, the Holocaust, the Cold War and selected world issues today. 

Work Load:  Group and individual projects. Formative and summative assessments. Short written assignments. Informal and formal presentations.
