Pre-Requisite: one year total of FAV200/210: Ceramics 1/2 and FAV220/225: Wheel Ceramics 1/2 in any combination
Course Description: Choose your own adventure! Students will be provided with prompts and given artistic freedom to develop artistic voice and complete projects using any techniques they've learned previously in Ceramics/Throwing 1 and 2. The focus of this course is Design and connecting pieces to a theme with supporting visual evidence. Emphasis is placed on more creative surface treatment and decoration. Students are required to plan, draw, and design each project before executing it. Students maintain a professional blog where all of their work and creative process will be documented. This course supports AP Studio 3D. Fees: $35 materials fee
Work Load: Our Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) is Art Club. A Standards Based Grading system that incorporates Formative Assessments for skill development and Summative Assessments based on projects. Students who use class time wisely will have little to no homework. Assignments can be completed written, orally, or through video submission.
Why You Might Be Interested In The Class: The techniques and skills gained in this class are the same techniques and skills used in real-life industries. This course will teach students how to run a studio safely, as well as how to create and finish pieces that can be sold.
