Course Description: As part of the course, students will learn the basics of acting and improvisation, as well as the study of texts (monologues, scenes, and plays). Daily activities will be designed to improve creativity, concentration, communication, collaboration, vocal and physical expression, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. A student can experience theatre acting, filmmaking and acting, mime, puppetry, poetry readings, musical theatre, and Shakespearean literature and performances. There will be a culminating performance at the end of each semester. Students who successfully complete Theatre Acting 1 are encouraged to audition for Theatre Acting 2.

Work Load: Homework is limited to character and memorization work, sometimes 1-2 hours a week.
