Pre-Requisite: Completion of Spanish 3 or equivalent. If you are newly enrolled to the district or hoping to enter a level of language out of sequence, your ability to register for the course is contigent on a one hour placement test with a language teacher. Course Description: Interpersonal communication is emphasized in this course. All four skills of language proficiency will be covered: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Language and grammar will be taught in context to refine language production accuracy. Aside from developing language skills, this course explores contemporary culture in Spanish-speaking countries. The focus of the class will be communication, as well as preparing for college level study abroad and lifelong learning. In addition to preparing students for AP Spanish Language and Culture, this course will also prepare them for the sequential 5th-year language course.

Work Load: Daily homework will be assigned, including more complex assignments in writing and reading and use of more advanced language resources.

Why You Might Be Interested In The Class: The goal and mission of the Spanish department is for students to learn skills that allow them to communicate, explore, and connect across cultures and foster attitudes of mutual understanding and respect of the Spanish-speaking world.
