Pre-Requisite: Finish Mandarin Chinese 3 with C and above. If you are newly enrolled to the district or hoping to enter a level of language out of sequence, your ability to register for the course is contigent on a one hour placement test with a language teacher. Course Description: This course is a continuation of Mandarin Chinese 3 and emphasizes vocabulary, grammar, verbal and written communication. Through conversations and media that contain unfamiliar vocabulary, students will continue to develop their ability to understand main ideas and details expressed in conversations. Also as part of this course, students will develop their ability to summarize, describe, and explain their views on a variety of familiar topics in uncomplicated situations, as well as to support their opinions with some details. The study of Chinese culture is furthered through projects, readings, songs, and videos.
Work Load: The typical work includes daily speaking and/or writing practices, projects and assessments. Students are expected to spend 10 to 30 minutes on practice daily depending on the students' proficiency level.
