Pre-Requisite: Finish Mandarin Chinese 1 with C and above. If you are newly enrolled to the district or hoping to enter a level of language out of sequence, your ability to register for the course is contigent on a one hour placement test with a language teacher. Course Description: A continuation of Mandarin Chinese 1, with further development of vocabulary, grammar, reading skills, and writing skills. This course will continue to emphasize Chinese pronunciation, characters, and sentence composition. Through phrases, short sentences, and commonly-used expressions, students will be able to understand ideas and exchange basic information on familiar topics. By completing projects, readings, listening to songs, and watching videos, students will gain more knowledge about Chinese culture.
Work Load: The typical work includes daily speaking and/or writing practices, projects and assessments. Students are expected to spend 5 to 20 minutes on practice daily depending on the students' proficiency level.
