Course Description: Designed for students without Chinese language experience. Builds a solid foundation of Chinese Pinyin, vocabulary, and grammar. This course develops four basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Furthermore, students will compose paragraphs on the computer using Chinese characters. Chinese culture is introduced through projects, readings, songs, and videos. Active participation in class is expected.

Work Load: 20 minutes of homework nightly
