Course Description: The AP Environmental Science course is equivalent to an introductory college course. This engaging and rigorous course emphasizes scientific principles and analysis through field research, case studies, and laboratory experiences. The course draws from the biological, earth, and chemical sciences and includes topics such as biodiversity, population dynamics, food production, soil, toxicology, climate change, energy production, air pollution, and water resources. AP Environmental Science students are encouraged to take the AP examination, for which college credit may be awarded.

Work Load: Group and individual work, lab work, research projects, reading quizzes, and tests. Our Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) is Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).

Why You Might Be Interested In The Class: Students who are interested in environmental issues especially those considering a career in science, as well as those who are hoping to earn college credit through AP testing.
