Course Description: This college-prep course is algebra-based, application-oriented, and integrated with technology. It combines topics from Algebra 2, Statistics, Probability, and Precalculus with practical financial content, covering areas such as discretionary expenses, banking, investing, credit, employment, income taxes, automobile ownership, independent living, retirement planning, and the stock market. Students will use a variety of mathematical tools€”including symbolic algebraic, graphical, geometric, and verbal representations€”to model, interpret, and solve real-world financial problems. This course is designed for seniors who want to apply mathematics in an adult-centered financial context, gaining practical skills they will use throughout their lives.

Work Load: Formative/Summative, Group/Individual Projects; Approximately 1.5 hours of weekly homework.
