Pre-Requisite: E1/E2 CMA 131 & CMA 132
Course Description: As a continuation of E1/E2, students have more time to master algebra in this course. Throughout the course, students will learn systems of equations, linear and quadratic functions, and problem solving. A combination of algebraic, graphical, verbal, and numerical methods will be used to master State Standards for Algebra 1. Review is an integral part of every unit. Technology and alternative approaches will be taught to enhance student understanding. Homework is assigned on a daily basis. Daily homework will be assigned. Students earn one math credit and one general education credit upon completing the two-course series
Work Load: Formative and summative assessments; approximately 0-30 minutes of homework daily and 1.5 hours weekly.
Why You Might Be Interested In The Class: Students need this foundational course to continue their mathematical progression in high school. This course prepares students for Geometry and then Algebra 2.
