Pre-Requisite: Washington State bilingual test qualification as English language
Course Description: This course is designed to help students develop the English language in an academic setting. Using district curriculum HMH ED and teacher prepared materials, students will have a focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Adopting: direct instruction, peer-to-peer exercises, teacher-student collaboration, and practice presentations. Students will receive assistance with their language skills to ensure that they get the most out of their other classes at MIHS. Through the year, students will grow their academic vocabulary to help further the additional courses they are enrolled in. Overall, this course aims to provide students with a comfortable environment that can support the specific learning needs of each student based on their individual English Language needs.
Work Load: Practice all four language skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Most of the language exercises will be completed in class.
Why You Might Be Interested In The Class: This course is designed for students who haven't passed the English proficiency tests and want to continue to enhance their academic and conversational English.
